We are a fully computerised surgery and, for your safety all routine prescriptions are produced on our computer.

We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice (more if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope for us to post it to you) so you should get the request to the surgery at least five days before you run out. Please avoid running out of medication and then having to request medication urgently. 

Please ensure you clearly mark the required medication.

To avoid errors occurring, we do not accept requests over the telephone. All requests must be in writing either to your nominated chemist or handed into the surgery.

A list of local chemists is available from the surgery; for all these chemists we operate a system where you can hand your repeat slip into the chemist when your prescription is due for renewal. The chemist will then pass your request onto us to issue the prescription and the medication will be available in the chemist 48 hours after you place the request. Please note that the 48 hour window is during the working week and DOES NOT include weekends.

We review your medication on a regular basis. The date of your next review will be situated at the bottom of the repeat request slip. A medication review will enable us to make sure that you are taking what you need. It is also an opportunity to review your medical condition(s).

It is not always necessary for you to have an appointment with a doctor for your medication to be reviewed, if there are no problems with your medication then a doctor may review your medication without you being present.
